Our story
Born out of a never-dying love for lyrics that cut deep and the freedom of being unapologetically yourself, The Overgrown Emo was founded by two Canadian Millennials who never parted ways with their emo roots.
We grew up in the golden era of the emo scene, when nothing seemed to matter more than being able to snag tickets to the next show. Before we could even blink, we became adults, tied the knot, and recently welcomed a little punk rock baby of our own. Although we’ve aged a bit, you’ll still find us blasting mid-2000s emo anthems, rocking black skinny jeans, and wearing our hearts on our sleeves—literally.
At the heart of it, The Overgrown Emo is more than just an apparel brand—it’s a home for those who still carry the torch for the music, movement, and message that shaped a generation. For us, it’s not just about the nostalgia for nostalgia’s sake; it’s about honouring something real and connecting to something bigger than ourselves. We welcome and celebrate vulnerability, find strength in the scars, and believe there’s power in embracing your authentic self.
